Fact of the matter is that the people at the top of the youtube/content creator game will not only live, but thrive off a depression as less people working not only means more people watching content online (see the explosive growth happening on youtube during peak covid while many were jobless) but that content creators will also have less competition as breaking in gets harder and more expensive each year. Entertainment functions as escapism and role fulfillment in dark times. Are you trying to tell me a dude like Mr Beast, who gives away 100k a video and makes people think he's a god among men with the charity he does isn't going to further blow up if everyone is (more) jobless?If you think I'm talking out my ass look at how Hollywood thrived during the depression.
