       @TechConnectify Some people just live in a very idealistic and detached world from reality. Even places like the Netherlands and Japan which are halo countries for public transportation still have cars. Even if the US started shoving tons of money into Public Transportion, it still wouldn’t happen overnight. As long as cars are a necessity of life (which they currently are whether someone likes it or not) then I can’t understand why people get mad at others for finding them interesting.

There’s a “FuckCars” subreddit whose participants allow no quarter for reality.Sure, I’d love it if the US were completely connected to free public transportation and everyone had access to a store 5 minutes walk away and remote jobs.But it’s just fuck cars, no matter what, even if you’re doing it as responsibly as possible within your own circumstances.It’s like…militant with some people.

       @Sonikku It's exhausting, and I agree with them!It really should not be necessary to own a car where I live. There are plenty of amenities within biking distance, but there's NO infra for me to feel safe on a bike. We should absolutely be fixing that!But /also/ I drive 100+ miles regularly and literally need a car to do my job in a cost-effective way.It's amazing, but the real world is fucking complicated.
