One thing that is annoying about the Mastodon web interface is that you can't keep it running for any extended period of time - it will start lagging like hell to the point where the tab becomes defunct.

you mean like tumblr, twitter, tweetdeck?nothing under the sun. Product people love endless scrolling, frontends devs are lazy.Hence we get an everloading DOM without any consideration for long-term use, and a shit UX (Ever tried to reload the page? Go back in history?) :((the worst thing in all this is that a proper endless scroll, with anchors for navigation & DOM preserving is not that hard to do..)

@void I never had that issue with Tweetdeck. Can keep it running for 12h+ and the tab still is as fast as before. Likely because Tweetdeck actually unloads older posts (they will be loaded again if you scroll down).

Ok then I guess they fixed this specific part of the problem since I last used it,but, any time an endless scroll is made, they always suffer from theses issues. It’s not new sadly. :(
