@Moon if you look at it closely though the production quality is excellent. it's just that there's no shading and the character design is "ugly for the sake of ugly", or at least that's the perception by people like me who don't have the right mindset to appreciate it. I always assumed this type of art (speaking broadly) was designed by and for people who are highly empathetic and don't care so much about the other stuff besides that. recently received a raspberry pi 4 by a friend and the manual is full of strikingly similar art.objectively speaking, i listen to people shrieking like dying pigs accompanied by what sounds like a rusty saw being played way too fast and appreciate this as the height of emotionally moving music, i have no grounds to complain about artstyles.
