@kairyssdal I'd guess because they serve fewer ads in 3rd party apps--I know this is true for me when I used Echofon. They want to cut them out.

@kairyssdal I've suspected for a while that Musk knows his only option other than bankruptcy is a much smaller, marginally profitable Twitter that's a lot closer to Truth Social than any public square for the world. Hence the flirting with increasingly repressive tactics that alienate most of us; he doesn't care. Endgame is a paid social network for RWNJs and crypto bros.(Although my money is still on bankruptcy/fire sale to someone who's dumb/smart enough to attempt fixing it.)
