@stux I knew someone who used to come to a now dead mall I used to work at. He would hand out bars of Dove chocolate to people he talked to. He was a super nice guy. I saw him in the mall after I quit working there. I stopped to say hi. He asked me if I'd share an espresso with him. I declined because I had stuff to do. Later I found out he was from WWII Italy, was against the Axis, & eventually made it to the US. I greatly regret my decision. He's no longer alive.

@stux Pre-empting customary questioning on the topic a former colleague of mine caused fairly hysterical laughter by trying to get a supermarket cashier to sign up to HIS personal loyalty scheme. He had a clipboard and pen to enroll, and when faced with giggles said w mock seriousness "Wait, wait, there are great benefits, let me explain. All you have to do... " Nearby cashiers were in fits. Made their day I think. (He was clearly joking.)He died recently, far too young, and funny to the end.
