Anarqxista / Andrew Lloyd was chased off twitter for their pro-pedo takes (about Berkman and Edelsohn) so they came here to Koletiva. They were banned for said pedo shit, so they returned to twitter and then found a home at ni[.]hil[.]ist. From there they were banned for pedo shit. One easy way to rehabilitate the image of someone terrible is for them to catch charges or get clapped. If you went to jail, you're "the real deal" and beyond reproach. If you're dead, people aren't permitted to speak ill of you.My theory is that Lloyd was feeling the walls closing in on Anarqxista and offed her in a perfectly heroic way to cover up what was being levied against her to save her legacy.

What made Anarqxista popular among anarchists was her firebrand take-no-shit attitude the couple with her being a sex worker gave her a shield righteousness the protected her from criticism. How dare we call out ("tone police") police the SWers? The gained popularity among anarchists (much the way Dennis did) by spouting off extremely bland and at times problematic anarchistic takes. One might call this "like farming." And it often worked to draw people in.She, like many other grifters on the "left," was a by-western-standards conventionally attractive woman who flaunted her sexuality. But more specifically her brand of sexuality pulled in the absolute worst people, and it often felt like she had reduced anarchism to simple promiscuity. This makes sense when you know that behind her was a man in his 50's creating exactly the kind of "liberated" (i.e., available for men to consume) woman that the average unadmittedly-anti-feminist anarchist wants.

Also more generally her lewd shit let her farm random manarchists and brocialists who then could provide cover both by simping / stanning and simply by the numbers they gave her. Followers is some signal toward legitimacy. They posted to be the exact kinda of hollow fiesty-but-sexy anarchist plaything that people who don't understand liberation want. They want someone without the hangups or the prudishness or whatever who will tell them they're a good anarchist and fuck them.

Part of what lets people infiltrate or defraud groups is when they tell us the sort of compelling narratives that we want to hear. We *want* to believe that such people exist. Maybe they say they've done great things. Read many books. That they're cool and slick the way we aren't while adhering to a politic they claim to share with us.We get completely fucked over by compelling narratives all the time because often the are fabrications meant to defraud us. Or they simply don't map to reality and lead us to make decisions that don't benefit us.

Oddly I don't recall Anarqxista posting asking for money, so while I may have disagreements with Andrew Lloyd (I find pedophilia horrible, he likes it), at least he never milked people for money with his persona? Good for him?(also someone can check me on this, memory is fallible)

@hakan_geijer Did anyone ever see any evidence the said death actually happened or did everyone just jump over a story without spending any time to try and verify the claims? At some point people have to be responsible for their ability to run with any story they read without bothering to fact check. Someone supposedly getting stabbed to death intervening in a domestic situation they weren't a part of should be news somewhere.

I think an announcement of someone dying is a reasonable thing to take at face value, by itself, without dropping everything to immediately investigate that person's backstory (especially when it comes to someone that one isn't close to). This is NOT a common situation, and we don't all have to live up to the standards of a press agency in our social media postings. That said, I know a lot of people felt the initial story was rather strange. Were it not for the crew of researchers Hakan is speaking on behalf of getting on top of it so quickly, I suspect others would have done so at some point soon. The thought definitely crossed my mind to pay attention to whether anyone would come forward to say that they knew "AQ" personally irl, or whether there would be other information from independent sources about the supposed incident in the coming days.@1312161etc @hakan_geijer

@riotmuffin @hakan_geijer I guess another way to look at this is, a person was able to pretend to be someone they aren't, inject themselves into a space that is supposed to be marginally less trusting and more security conscious, make minor celebrity status (apparently) get their thoughts published in high access spaces, then fake their death and get an outpouring of support without anyone verify they were who they claimed to be.At a minimum, that should give people pause.

@1312161etc @riotmuffin @hakan_geijer I can add "Might just be a completely made up persona" to my list of reasons not to trust someone now I guess. Like how the fuck can we trust one another given all the ways people can be publicly shitty, privately shitty, and now I guess also not even real people in the first place? I have no idea how to build trust with and in people at this point

@anoreon @1312161etc @riotmuffin you don’t have to. Because you generally should distrust people online until proven otherwise because of how easy fraud is. Also trust isn’t binary or a spectrum. It’s contextual. I trust people here to report interesting anarchsit news and theory. Not with other things. IRL maybe some people with actions and other with just similar mutual aid. Don’t let this keep you from interacting. Just generally play it close to the chest until given compelling reasons to open a great deal
