how to fight putin in ukraine:any russian national who enters a nato country legally and surrenders their russian passport and all dennounces their russian citizenship at immigration will be granted a free green card with refugee status. they will not be permitted to leave that country until the state department deems the conflict has concluded.

@MercurialBlack the biggest issue is russia has no place to go, the rest of the world is super gay. there would need to be a place that is actually palatable for them to expat to.... like the Yukon... or alberta... 🤔

@jeff@federated.fun Don't think that is a reliable solution.A country and nationality are more than just the government of that country.I know many Russians who are absolutely against the war, against Putin and the whole gov., but they are still proud to be Russians. Not because of what the Russian gov. does but due to the culture, family and so on.None of them would give up their passport. In addition, they would not flee Russia unless they felt compelled to do so.Many who are currently fleeing Russia are not doing it because they want to harm the country or because the government so repels them, but because the mobilization will force them to decide whether they want to die in this senseless war or whether they want to leave their home country.And last but not least, this violates various international agreements and the EU charter.Freedom of travel applies in most parts of the world, basically all of the western world. Everyone is allowed to leave the country if they wish to go to their home country at any time.Taking away this right from refugees would equate them with criminals.Organizationally, that would also be problematic. Many European countries are already struggling with the current refugees.If you wish, I can send you photos of how African, Ukrainian and Russian refugees live in Germany right now. It's really fucking undignified. Because the gov. has no idea where to put them. Our incredible capitalist systems have led to the fact that we no longer have any living space that can be paid for in any way.The idea of bringing in any (russian) refugees who are not absolutely necessary into the refugee system is absurd.

@tfunken the eu refugee thing is a mess and i have no idea why anyone thinks that was a good idea to begin with. the national pride in russia is in fact the biggest factor. none of them will leave unless it is perceived as the thing a good russian would do. europe is not a place russians want to go either, it's too gay.

@tfunken also, i am okay with Europeans being repulsed by my ideas as i dont value their perspective one bit. they tend to make idiotic calls like importing most of syria and northern africa to germany. actually braindead tbh. i dont tend to take idiot countries seriously.
