@stux The problem with Central Bank Digital Currencies are they grant absolute power to the network. That is fine when the network is a decentralised group of disperate peers, but when it is a government, it means they can control everything about your money, where you spend it, what you can spend it on, whether you are allowed to spend anything at all, they can take it, transfer it, freeze it... its really quite scary.

@stux It will remove privacy altogether. Governments will know exactly how and where you spend your money. It will be like credit and ATM cards where spending and cash withdrawals can be traced. Vulnerable people will be at risk. We all will.
