Chainsaw Man (Episodes 1-12)Yes I am an anime-only for CSM and I'm genuinely shocked at how much discourse this anime has inspired because it is one of the best modern anime I've seen in a while, punctuating it's high octane intensity with uncomfortable and quiet character drama.Even the most basic scenes the characters move in such an interesting way, where it looks like they're constantly rotoscoped. It gives characters like Makima in particular this surreal offputting creepyness to them.

It's very cold and cruel right off the bat with very rarely any moments of levity. Even the comedic scenes always have a dark undertone to them you don't see very often in anime. It reminds me a lot of Eva in that sense where it feels like a consistently upsetting and lonely series yet I end up wanting more. The few genuinely nice moments are very good. But I do feel kind of aware it's setting me up for something sad. But that's kind of a given with anime like this and I eat it up.

Mario - The Mysterious Gem (SMW Hack)FUCK I wanted to get into SMW hacks for a while now but I've only been very slowly chipping away at this one ever since I started. I was genuinely surprised at how challenging it was for me considering it's tagged normal difficulty on SMWCentral only to learn by the end 1 year later that it was only a DEMO. I thought I was good at Mario. (╥﹏╥)

The Girl from the Other Side : Side StoriesOther Side is a fantastic manga but it is incredibly stressful to the point where it kinda takes away from the really sweet dynamic between Sensei and Shiva that I really ended up wanting more of by the end of the story. I was really hoping for something like this and when I saw the notification on my phone that a new manga had been released and it was entirely a collection of side stories I felt like my prayers had been answered.

And it's just as sweet as you'd expect. I'd read a slice of life spin off about these two and I'm not into that genre typically. These stories take place during gaps of time not shown by the original run of the manga and I'm kind of amazed because every period of the story it uses are moments where I felt like things went by too fast. Dare I say I kinda wish they would have waited to put out the deluxe edition of the series because these should just be added to the original story.
