@ITM It is interesting that the elites are complaining about the use of something mostly done in the elite parts and the peasants are complaining about something taken away where present areas use less.

@ITM I imagine Colorado shifted to majority electric sometime in the last 10-20 years or so, when the big building boom started in the front range. Easier to run power lines than plumb gas, so cheap and quick won. Plus Public Service company bought out by Xcel corp.Up until the O'Biden reign of terror I was pretty close to swapping out my electric drier and range for gas because it was so cheap and helped the local economy.

@average_random_joe could be a small number of "peasants" effected doing most of the complaining. Since I have a six burner with electric oven and unless they want to replace it, I am going to keep using it.

@ITM next do the percentage of restaurants with gas. A lot of small businesses about to close due to retrofit costs.

@ITM I decided to hold off until the appliances failed, and to see if induction cooktops got any cheaper.Gas clothes driers are superior to electric because they can get much hotter.

@ITM RVs run gas for cooking, heating, cooling the fridge, etc. Which is keeping people alive when the power goes out.

@ITM I only haven't gas now because the prior owner didn't pipe the gas pipe to the kitchen. I may have to deal with some flooding damage and depending how much gutting in that area happens, I may be going gas. Far superior cooking quality. It is funny that we are even having this conversation, coal fired stoves good vs gas fired stoves bad.
