Been re-watching Bonds again, and one of the things that absolutely drives me around the bend about the Craig fillums, is they made a big fucking deal of him playing Texas Hold-Em, to make him "more approachable." 20 years after Casino Royale, still nobody knows what a god damned river or flop is, but I have baccarat advertised to me with my hockey games. Poker? Nowhere to be seen.

That said, the Craig flicks are probably the best sequence. The Moore ones are fun and silly, but the man was too old to start with. Dalton wanted to do Craig did, but didn't get the chance. Brosnan was good, but got saddled with some shitty scripts - too bad, he and Halle Berry should have been great. And we never really got to see what Lazenby could have done with the role.

Forgot Connery. Almost as good as Craig, but as bad as Spectre was, You Only Live Twice was worse. Diamonds Are Forever could have been better if it hadn't been ruined with that homophobic ending, and Goldfinger... wasn't great either.

That said, probably the single best line in all of Bondhood was in Goldfinger: Gert Frobe, "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die! "I would hear arguments for Judy Dench's M with "If you think for one moment I don't have the balls to send a man out to die" etc, but that one's a bit long.
