@theorytoe when dragons walked the earth, you had to scour around libraries to learn how to program, now it's all in the open and there are courses at the same time?like lol, if you can look up the documentation and the material, you can actually practice it too unless you're a ph*ne user

I have literally become a professional devby youtube. You dont need a phd in compsci to be good at it (ironically those who do get higher than a bachelors are unironically stupid)

I'm tempted to take a break from this wagecage job once I stockpile enough $ in my bank account (a month or sure) if I can't find anything less stressful and just study C or something.

@theorytoe yea exactly, all you need is an indian dude explaining you programming on youtube or books that are in public domain now to rise above those who paid for college courses and work at corporations

Yeah, even if X company requires school, you can cheap out an go to like a community college or something and get an ez acsociates or a bachelors. Even better if they'll pay for it.Because you can just literally learn the basics or programming on yt and once you're confident enough, you can probably pick up any language with just some reference docs and a book/video in about an hour.I learned python, then ended up doing that with C and Go, havent been more happy.

@theorytoe yeah, but i feel like it's not the kinda sphere that you should go into for money, with indians being cheaper to hire and other diversity hires bumping the corporation up on blackrock's investment priority list, being white and good at coding will probably shit all over your chances

@PhenomX6 @theorytoe @lina This can be a pretty good option, if you've got the funds for it. Having some time off between jobs can be great for personal projects, hobbies, etc.

I mean hell its a pretty good option. If you have people you know that can get a cv places, if you got even a few attractive skills, you can get some gigs right off the bat.def it would be a good idea to learn a language, as long as its a fairly relivant language. Hack a few projects together and you got something that might get eyes lookin.

Yeahthats why you get into the corpos for awhilethen do contract work.because that generally speaking is less dependent on the "diversity hire pajeets" thing. Yeah its a factor, but what industry hasnt been invaded my diversity hire with unskilled (diverse) workers

@theorytoe it'd all depend on the conscience of the employer, if he doesn't care about stable and quality work being done, then even manual labor jobs are gonna be filled with unskilled brownies

@theorytoe After the bachelors, there is mostly just rehashing the same material, plus things get more political, plus you learn how to write a paper like you've done something, but it is just a scam, you haven't done anything.Essentially, if someone has a PhD in comp-sci, they either have a character defect, which allows them to be part of fraud, or they have an intelligence defect, and couldn't tell they were just going over the same material from under-grad. Either way, if I was tricked into getting a PhD, I simply wouldn't tell people from shame xD
