I saw that TransAxes quiz in the local feed, and the labels it used, namely Tucute/Transmed, made me immediately suspicious of it. So, being a scientist, I took the quiz to see if my suspicions were justified.Be aware, #trans people: this is a push poll. It is designed to make you think more favorably of truscum. Setting aside the labels, of the 69 questions it asks, a large number present core truscum dog-whistles favorably, and dunk on enbies and trans youth. (1/?)

It does so in three ways: presenting truscum ideas favorably, subtly mocking younger trans people, and associating innocuous statements with truscummery. The poll consistently presents core truscum dog-whistles favorably. Take these four questions, for instance, all of which appear early in the quiz order--24, for instance, takes advantage of the common trans wish that we were cis to push a person's score towards truscummery, when it simply represents a wish to escape oppression! Secondly, it mocks tropes young trans folks enjoy. *Hoodie-wearing is an important part of trans culture?* That's an absurd statement, and while people joke about it, essentially nobody actually believes it. Similarly, binary trans people are problematic?Freaking *really?*These statements are all framed in such a way that they're almost impossible to take a fully non-truscum position, & to encourage the idea in quiz-takers that the people who are associated with these are contemptible. Finally, it lionizes older generations of trans activists. To wit: the only queer (let alone trans) people who *don't* admire the Stonewall rioters are the ones who literally don't know anything about Stonewall. And yet, it can serve no purpose in this quiz than to appeal to trans tradition--which is closely tied to modern truscummery. The net function is to disparage modern trans activists, few of whom are truscum, and elevate older ones.(4/?)

@Impossible_PhD I admire Reverend John Church, who performed the first same-sex marriags in the early 1800's, and I admire the martyrs of the Vere Street Coterie. I admire Karl Heinrich Ulrichs and Karl Maria Kertbeny and Magnus Hirschfeld. I admire Oscar Wilde and Edward Carpenter and Virginia Woolf and John Maynard Keynes. I admire Henry Gerber and Alan Turing. I admire Harry Hay and Frank Kameny. And yes, Stonewall was important, too.

As should be obvious, I'm *virulently* anti-truscum, and look upon their ideology as the result of systematic abuse by the remnants of a system built to destroy us all, and which they perpetrate on themselves. And yet, I somehow scored 20% truscum. This quiz is built to encourage the idea in people that they're already truscum themselves, and therefore open them to the idea of investigating the ideology further. And that's the first step on the radicalization ladder.(5/5)
