They just asked what plane were you on in your first flight, and these guys are all 737 and 727. Mine was a 707.

@Ricardus We had a family friend who was a radiologist, and he spent his extra money on flying things. He took us up when I was about 10. Super cool.

@Ricardus We lived on a farm. He flew us up there, and as we were coming down over the property, one of the neighbors was riding down our driveway (~3/8-mile long) on their 3-wheeler. We swooped down over them, and they were so surprised they about wrecked. Core memory.

@Bioalchemy13 It's funny. When I was young and took that flight from SYR to Detroit to pick up a custom car dad ordered (we drove it home) I was super excited to fly. It was magical. An early morning flight. French toast was served for breakfast. But now, flying is anxiety inducing, and not necessarily because of all the extra security and time it takes. I just don't enjoy it anymore, but I still do enjoy aircraft.

@Ricardus I travel for work so I went and got TSA pre-check. I do occasionally get selected for added scrutiny but it’s so routine I still like flying. I do miss NW Airlines though. Too much consolidation during the Big Recession. BTW my first flight was from MKE to MIA to SJU (San Juan). PS. The area code in San Juan is Dreamliner (787).

@Ricardus As an 8-year old I loved the free boiled sweets handed out on take-off and during descent to mitigate ear-popping in the unpressurised cabins.Do #NASA do that for astronauts on blast-off and hatch opening ;-)
