@Ricardus @msquebanh Can confirm, they were called "husbands" before that - at least as far back as the 70s, when I was a kid. Farther, if I got that from my mom, which I think I did.

@Ricardus Goodness, I had one in college, 47 years ago. Never needed a reason to call it anything. It just sat on my bed, and did what I needed it to do when I needed it to do it.Don't know what happened to it, but I ceased having it, long ago. Would like to have one again, but I don't know what to search for.If you get an answer, please post it here.

@Ricardus It helps if you're like me & anytime anyone gets near my ladybits - I give them a 5 seconds warning. Leave them alone or I'll scream like a 500 yrs caged banshee witch. That usually works. I use my friend's taser cane on the slower to learn ones 😂🤣 *zappipity zap zap*

@Ricardus I got one as a gift as a teenager, and it was always in the way. Single twin bed in a small bedroom. No idea where to put it. Perhaps, I would like one more now? Is it something you cannot live without?

@Ricardus @msquebanh The ones we had were made of brown corduroy so in my mind they are quintessentially 70s. But for all I know my mom was calling them that in the 40s and 50s. Apparently they still exist, they probably have wifi now. I Am Old

@TheParsley @msquebanh Yeah. The ones we had in the 80s were corduroy also. I'm not too fussy in the fabric, I just wanted one because the pillows I was using against my new headboard weren't working well, and it was leading to neck pain.
