       wish people realized that if we have issues in society, voting will literally do nothing, especially if you live in a country that has de-facto one party, like mine.i remember how the other day one military fur on here told me he was upset at mass protesting and negative sentiment towards cops and military, and told me that people like me should vote instead.i'm sorry but how do you expect me to fight state oppression by participating in the game that is being rigged by the state itself

       a year ago we had riots in kazakhstan over multiple economic and social problems that our president was not giving a shit about. you know what he did? he called putin for help and asked his armed forces to gun protesters down because he needed backup. many people died. how do you expect me to fucking deal with this? vote? in a country where almost every election is rigged? are you dumb?but that guy is a military fur. of course. how else would it be

       @tillianisafox i feel like it makes sense if you live in a country with a more democratic state (think germany or france), but the notion of outvoting an authoritarian regime like what you have in kazakhstan or what we have in russia is just laughable hmm yes let me just choose between insane soviet boomers, insane soviet boomers, insane soviet boomers and insane soviet boomers

       @tillianisafox that doesnt like magically exclude the fact you can and probably should vote given an opportunity, because the alternative is not doing anything, but like it's by no means the end of the story, and i think even more optimistic people like Ekaterina Schulmann do understand it
