       i dont think im having fun on here. i dont feel the active psychological harm of twitter but it's just, words to look at.i dont feel like im communicating with anyone, we're all just in a room shouting.

       i don't feel like i really have any friends on here. just the ones who are shouting nearby.i think i am desperate for social connection despite being very bad at forming and maintaining those connections.whether that failure is from people not liking me, or me convincing myself people don't like me - i don't know and i don't think it makes a difference.

       @chemelia i get this vibe a *lot* on mastodon - and the recent meta drama seems to shine a bit more light on iti don't get it browsing the TL on my akkoma alt - at worst people are just doing their own thing with each other and i'm too distracted to keep up or join in at that moment (or the subject matter is uninteresting to me)it really seems to be a cultural divide between there and the "always be ready to block for any reason" we see around here
