       @tswan the user interface of Elk will appeal to many I think. It is similar in look and feel to the bird but with Mastodon timeline and feeds (local, home, federated). I can see it only getting better per time.

       @helder @Coachmark @Connecticutting unfortunately the developer abandoned it so it won’t support any new features/functionality that come to Mastodon. It’s still my favorite, but other apps are catching up and getting feature parity.I love Metatext but can’t recommend it without a big red flag attached at this point 😔

       @helder @Coachmark @Connecticutting I think they had personal issues and needed to focus on themselves—self care is important!On iOS the promising apps coming up are Mammoth by @JPEGuin and @ivory, both doing beta testing so you probably have to follow and wait til they announce new slots. Also lots of good web-based ones like https://elk.zone and https://fe.soapbox.pubI love Ivory but it doesn’t support our beloved custom emojis yet! Apparently that’s really difficult to implement…

Trying out the official Mastodon app and seems good. I will say I found MetaText a bit buggy with notification updates sometimes.

       @helder @Coachmark @Connecticutting @JPEGuin @ivory the official mastodon app good, but it’s missing two big features in my opinion: the federated timeline and unlisted posts.Without the federated timeline it’s a bit harder to discover new people—which is why (I think) lots of folks quit Mastodon early on!
