       i really appreciate all the sighted people trying to support a culture of image descriptions but i wish they would consider the pointit's not "as someone who's B/VI i need to fully imagine what the picture i can't see is down to every detail"it's "if you're using an image it serves a purpose and i'd like similar access to sighted people to your toot"an #ImageDescription should replace the visual meaning, what an image adds, which is rarely the image specifics

       i see this probably every 15 minutes and i'm so tired. to make matters MORE ANGRYING many of them don't follow basic accessibility standards themselves

       @deilann If I'm including a picture, more often than not the picture is the purpose of the post. If I'm understanding properly, it would be better to have a tip like [photo of my kid on a bike] rather than one that a lengthy discussion of the surrounding buildings, the lighting, etc..Or would it be better to skip the alt altogether in that case, since the main text would likely also be describing the photo in general strokes?
