Your Attention Please:pl.anon-kenkai.com has served me well for many a year, but now that the database is well and truly fucked up beyond all recognition, it's time to move on.I don't know how much longer I'll be able to post on here, so in the interest of maintaining existing connections, I'll make this announcement now before I've even provisioned or installed anything.Going forward, I will be installing Mitra on a new box and creating an account there. Is it wise to use a Still-In-Development Fediverse software as my main instance? Absolutely not, but there's nothing else I really want to use, and I'm already shilling Mitra so I think it's fair to put my money where my mouth is.The address will be mitra.anon-kenkai.com , though nothing will be available there yet. I've already exported my follow list and plan to re-import it if possible, and if I still can I'll make another announcement here once everything's up an running just in case.Thank you for your service, Pleroma. It was an honor using you right up until the moment you went down in flames.

@JapanAnon If you plan on doing paid content there, make a Soapbox and Rebased-powered public instance.Pleroma can kick rocks.

@s8n @JapanAnon that's just kind of how pleroma beIf it's that one really fucky migration it can take days to finish.I also added these indexes and that has helped.https://git.pleroma.social/pleroma/pleroma/-/issues/2941#note_95273It took like a week in total for everything to calm down and start working correctly again for me.

@JapanAnon Mitra doesn't know how to import follows yet. But if you need it, I can add it in the next release

@sjw I get 500 Error everywhere on Public Timeline. I can fetch Mentions but not new Federated posts, and I can see DB request errors in journalctl.I've been told this happened to 076 Pleroma by @ryo , and I've been expecting the walls to come down here eventually. Not enough drive space to vacuum, not sure porting to a new server is worth the effort.

@JapanAnon @silverpill It is a feature that should be there anyway, he is will just be prioritizing it for, lets say, an early adopter.

@JapanAnon @sjw @ryo I've had that happen before after a migration, everything died, and going on the local timeline would crash my instance. Making a backup, then restoring from it fixed everything though, since everything was reindexed.

@parker @sjw @ryo I could try porting everything over to a new VPS with more space, including the LetsEncrypt certs. I'd just hate to go through all that effort and end up with the same problem again, either immediately or down the road.

@JapanAnon @sjw @ryo Yeah I've been putting off moving leafposter over given how many times I've broken it already. But fortunately it still has plenty of space left.

@nanook I have backups. But I don't think that'll help me here, since this seems to be a "Pleroma fucking up" thing.

@JapanAnon Is it fucking up a regular thing, or did the database just get corrupted? If it's a regular thing then ya I understand moving on. But computers do fuck up from time to time, catch a cosmic ray in a memory cell and bam.

@nanook From what I've seen and heard, Pleroma installs from a certain version upwards end up with catastrophic database failures. It happened to a couple of other instances, and the effort required to move everything over to a new environment to attempt fixing doesn't seem worth it, especially since I won't really know what I'm doing and there's no guarantee it'll even work.

@JapanAnon Ok sorry to here that. I've had issues with friendica but they've mostly been display or functionality issues, no bad database issues.

@coin @JapanAnon That's right, feature requests from early adopters have higher priority.

@JapanAnon @nanook It happened to my instance as well. Same error you described. I just deleted it and moved on.
