@mihobu @clive @glynmoody There's a very interesting ownership story about OMNI I wrote for Boing Boing a few years ago: https://boingboing.net/2013/07/09/who-owns-omni.htmlThe story rights largely expired and the magazine's overall copyright nobody knows who owns after bankruptcy. But as a result nobody can reissue it nor seemingly produce takedown notices.

@clive @markmason @mihobu @glynmoody Pretty sure thatās an Orson Scott Card story? (I wonāt read him any more, but wow was he fantastic.) I remember a disturbing scene in it in which the guy kills a dog if thatās the same story. Heās become very emotionless after an accident; draws up plans for a non-human robotic body, which other people don't get why he'd want.

@mihobu @clive Same. Along with National Lampoon, Spy, Harperās Magazine, and Heavy Metal, Omni was standard reading for me in my youth (I was largely unsupervised). I think Harperās still exists.
