Ivory is really nice, but with my social feed now split across mastodon, twitter, cohost, and others, what would really rule is some kind of Adium-like super app that combines all the various feeds

@neilsardesai Unfortunately that violates the Twitter API’s terms of service. But also this is a good argument for why federated content should be divorced from clients, if they all used ActivityPub you’d be able to have that any way you like.

@mergesort @neilsardesai oh wow, really? I was planning to build that… what do the ToS say about this?

@mackuba @neilsardesai The Developer ToS prevent you from making mixed timeline experiences. They made the rule back when App.net emerged because they didn't want people to make exactly this kind of app. Though who knows if anyone would enforce it these days, they probably fired all of the responsible lawyers.

@mergesort @neilsardesai is it ok if there's one app where you can log in to both Twitter and Mastodon, if they are shown as separate timelines like two different Twitter accounts? Because I was thinking something like a merged feed of tweets and toots mixed together, but separate timelines you can switch between like Twitter lists would be fine too, if that's ok

@mackuba @mergesort @neilsardesai I think within the same app but separate within the app is fine, since I believe that's what twidere on android does
