@Tempoast YE24 was just too cartoonish for me. Loved every minute of it so far but it just abruptly exploded out of nowhere and became incredibly silly very quickly. I prefer some of the more subtle, slow-burning spectacles with longer payoffs. Nothing beats seeing the gradual psychological breakdown over a number of years.

I'm slowly building a road racer for the mountain roads (I think I will stop short of caging it and ruining the street ability though). I would also really love to pick up something like a busted RX-8 to do Lemons but I need IRL car friends for that.The millennials are all Jap/stance/clout obsessed but I'm not going to drop 10K on a beat 240sx or 30K on an RX-7 that doesn't run when you can listen to the sweet song of an LS for half that. I love Jap car culture but all those Wangan guys were running what for them were cheap/accessible domestics.Ps. @WhiteDissidentRadio @chudbere @Evma_Alsar @txt @porsalin Offbrand GM is where it's at, but the bonus/downside is that while Lincoln/Mercury ran Ford motors and Plymouth/Chrysler ran Dodge motors, a Buick 350 is neither an Olds nor Chevy 350.Swap bowtie drivetrain in (tranny too thanks BOP bellhousing) or buy parts for motors that died off before I was born.My OBS scratches the itch tbh, it's in trash condition but nice wheels good stance & I get shout outs from passerby all the time.Legit hotrod though with a C notch.

@KashKustomer @chudbere @Evma_Alsar @txt @porsalin I'd have to put an LS1 in it. Fuel injection is a must, although carbureted sounds a lot better. But the driveability factor with the LS1 is what I need since I'm not a 17 year old kid with a screwdriver in the glovebox to tune the carb.We can all dream.

Like you could mistake it for a low end 350 decent.230hp, put it this way, if I told you I had a mildly hotted up 5.0 HO under the hood, you might find that interesting.Or, an ugly TPI 5.0l.No posi, so the watered down torque curve & limited power contributes to the shit 'n git factor. It's not a Mulsanne Mauler but it does stoplight assassin work admirably.I just cruise & enjoy a V8 via Flowmaster, occasional romp.

@KashKustomer @chudbere @Evma_Alsar @txt @porsalin 305 and 350 is basically the same engine. 350 has a longer stroke, but if you can take advantage of the higher compression ratio of the 305, you can make it faster than the 350.

@WhiteDissidentRadio @chudbere @Evma_Alsar @txt @porsalin EhAny spec you do on a 350 is just going to be more powerful, say you throw an Edelbrock top end at a 305 & a 350, the latter is always, always, going to have more torque and usually far more power, 45ci is a lot.But, I own the 305 & it runs good, reliable little guy. It's like 10-15hp less than the Vortec 350, but probably -35lbft everywhere on the curve. The smol bore is a factor, vortec heads were a factory level workaround since the classic 302-350 set was 2.02 1.60 valves, which dont fit 305s or 283s.Again, though, truck with an open diff, a 350 would possibly be a smoke machine, whereas this one works nice as is.Gets marginally better mpg than a tree fiddy, too. Sad, the 305 came into its prime only 3 years before getting axed.But I have perhaps the best one that was widely produced.

The bastard child of the SBCs. If I was going to go carbureted, I'd do a 400 or maybe a 383 stroker.

@WhiteDissidentRadio @chudbere @Evma_Alsar @txt @porsalin The 400 is a fine daily/cruiser motor but has issues for upgrades bc siamesed bores and steam holes.The 383 is the aftermarket workaround, a 400 crank in a 350 block originally.A 6.2l LS/LT is fairly close to a modern factory approach to this.
