@nvk I'm not in any way suggesting that you keep the instance going, #Mastodon has mostly been a ghost town for #Bitcoin content. I was more just interested if there was any material amount of activity on your well managed instance.

@nvk Ah yes, I forgot about all the mirror posters. I'm over here on and off and I'm thinking the dual posters from twitter that don't interact on #Mastodon make up about 85% or more of the bitcoinhackers.org posts. There is some #Bitcoin :bitcoin: signal on Mastodon from other instances, people that aren't on #Twitter at all mostly. I'm thinking those that still want to be on Bitcoin Mastodon will be able to easily find a new home after you shut down.

@jeffcliff this should get you started https://nostr.net/ for basics. Its not an app. Its a network of nodes (relays- backend - connected like fediverse) and clients (front end builds by some devs who took it up). But no matter which front end you use - you can communicate with all relays or change anytime etc. Its a build in progress of a network. Nostr is more like HTTP/HTTPS in itself.

@nvk this is way to fast, but it’s your instance. Feel free to do what ever you want. Nostr looks like a good idea but it’s not a product for everyone right now. Maybe in two years or so. When I have seen it correctly then the is not even an iOS app out there currently.
