#ElonMusk and the other ultra rich internationalists turned on #Ukraine when the deglobalization due to #NationalSecurity concerns that started to spread to #China they fear #NatSec concerns will trump #economic concerns now that the myth that “Economic ties with authoritarian regimes” has been thoroughly busted. In fact those ties do the opposite they give leverage to authoritarian governments over democracies the threat can be seen in this article about #teslahttps://seekingalpha.com/article/4566834-tesla-stock-you-havent-seen-anything-yet

See above @Nadinabbott btw this is why I see a full court press by the economic Royalists to put their people in office in the next election. Key among their goals will be to end the Ukraine conflict quickly regardless of the cost to Ukraine

@Nadinabbott I think the democrats are actually hoping they can hold on to the presidency but that congress stays republican or they even lose the senate so they can just blame the GOP for cutting off Ukraine and then retake the congress in the midterm after Ukraine as been forced to negotiate a bad end to the war

@voron it’s going to be over before the 2024 election. However, Russia is about to face a crisis not unlike 1917. That will be a problem for the GOP

@Nadinabbott @RokosBasilisk The GOP are doubtless highly influenced by Russia through various means, I doubt traditional aid would be on the table. Lifting or weakening of sanctions under the guise of foreign trade bills that create exploitable loopholes would follow their past actions. I would guess they will try that before 2024, and I’m not sure it won’t find bipartisan support as big money will pressure democrats for personal economic interests

@RokosBasilisk @voron conflicted. We did in 1991. Partly because lose nukes…this is not well known to be honest. If this keeps nukes from disappearing…however, we still need to be careful. A Russian collapse has geopolitical implications.

@voron @Nadinabbott Russian economy is equal to Australian.1.6-1.7 trillion. Not that massive anymore.Any "big money interests" are basically doing deals with Oligarchs and (now price capped) carbohydrates. The US Military-Industrial complex is the big winner and they will support the war. Defeat of Ukraine means much of the extra-contracts will dry out.The war is a GREAT commercial for US armsmakers. The HIMARS orders are booked for years ahead.

@RokosBasilisk @voron it’s not just Raytheon…himars manufacturer. There is also a lot of European and Australian weapons. This is spinning out into an industrial war.

@RokosBasilisk @Nadinabbott kinda, the defense industry is 💯 the big winners, but they have diverse over international interests. Also there are complex trade issues, for example the cutting off of Russian gas drove up the cost of EV charging stations in the EU which has caused major problems for EV manufacturers especially Tesla.

@RokosBasilisk @Nadinabbott The contracts for U.S. arms are unlikely to dry up after the Ukraine war ends due to needing to back fill the countries who sent arms to the Ukraine & the replacement of the U.S. for Russian arms because Russia just can’t supply & it’s been shown their equipment doesn’t perform for crap
