Notable features in the @megalodon mobile app include:* Long press the interaction buttons (reply, boost, fave, bookmark) to do those actions with a different account than the current one* Drafts and scheduled posts* On boost long press, "Post about this" (#QuoteBoost via new post with URL link)* Long press share button to copy the post URL in one stepGive #Megalodon a try. The official #Mastodon mobile app has dropped several *critical* fedi features, and Megalodon fixes them.

And to address "what critical features did the official #Mastodon mobile app drop?"The ones I noticed before dropping that app like a hot potato:* Unlisted visibility is not supported at all. Not only that, replies to an Unlisted post revert automatically back to Public visibility.* Content warnings are not automatically inherited on replies like they are in other clients. CWs can always be modified after the fact, but they should be inherited by default.#Megalodon fixes these.

@ToddVierling, Mastodon is a progressive web app, it can be installed as an app by clicking the corresponding option in the browser. I don't understand why people are installing third-party apps for it.

...I'm silly for forgetting to link! Thanks @briansullivan for the heads-up.It's only available for Android, sorry iOS users. (Though as it's a fork of the official Mastodon app, I'm sure an enterprising iOS developer could do similar things with the official iOS Mastodon app.)Get #Megalodon for Android here:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.joinmastodon.android.sk&hl=en&gl=US

@tero Native clients can provide features that the web application doesn't. For those of us who end up frequently switching between multiple accounts for various reasons, they can be quite useful because they give you the ability to jump to a different account to do an action. Open APIs are good 😄In fact I wrote a thread about how to install the PWA on Android, which I still have installed and use once in a while for different things:https://tech.lgbt/@ToddVierling/109303033282349798

@ToddVierling, PWA is very natural for flipping between different servers at least, it just installs a different app per server. I haven't tried with different accounts on the same server yet.

@tero You won't be able to use different accounts on the same server with that setup, because you only get one login cookie per account. When I refer to flipping between accounts to complete an action here, I mean things such as replying to a boosted post on an account more appropriate for that discussion than the one where I originally saw the boost. With the PWA, I have to copy the post URL from one account to another in order to access it and reply. Native clients can skip that step.

@ToddVierling, thanks for enlightening me! Mobile apps definitely have their place.
