Enable 2FA (two factor authentication) for #Mastodon if you haven't already! šŸ”’ This can be easily done from account settings and makes your account a lot more secure šŸ”„ For everyone on mstdn.social you can go to the following link: https://mstdn.social/settings/two_factor_authentication_methodsIf you are on another instance please check account settings in the web interface (via the website).#Security #2FA

@stux I can probably reset my password if I forget it from my email but what if I lose my TOTP token! How are they reset?

@stux found it, thanks! Didn't expect a sub menu under Auth but in retrospect it's obvious. Mobile layout makes it easy to miss.

@stux bit of a side question why not Vanilla šŸ¦ Bitwarden? Also that’s cool šŸ˜Ž you are self hosting a password management Vault (encrypted blob of data)

@stux 100%I can’t stress enough, for all serā…µces that proā…µde 2FA/MFA, how greatly this improves your login security. You can use apps like Authy, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator.#iOS has a built-in password manager found under Settings->Passwords, then tap the a揄ount you wish to add 2FA & tap ā€œSetup Verification Codeā€¦ā€ or tap the + symbol 揌 the upper-right of the Password page to add a new account. iOS will then offer to auto fill the verification field 揌 websites.

@stux yep. you can replace mastdn.social with whatever your instance is (ie bark.lgbt) and it should work the same
