Modern fantasy #ttrpg / #dnd has so many varieties of dragons.Yet I find types like the Hoop Lindwurm or the dragon familiars from German folklore to be curiously underrepresented.

@juergen_hubertI think "western culture" is pretty imaginatively bankrupt about dragons at this point especially in movies and videogames (dont know much ttrpgs or dnd).Every dragon in every movie that came out in the last 15 years looks and behaves identically. A harry potter dragon is indistinguishable from a lord of the rings dragon or a game of thrones dragon. Skyrim focused on dragons and they were still boring.When did we decide dragons all had to be the same grey boring edgelords?

@juergen_hubertI will have to look into some TTRPGs and DnD dragons a bit more. Is there really a big diversity or is it just Ice Dragon and Fire Dragon type stuff where they change the color and magical strengths.

@realcaseyrollinsI dont want to get into another fight, but the culture of learned helplessness about dealing with nazi trolls and racists pleroma devs seem to have is exhausting.There are a myriad of ways to shame away toxic people from a community, to make them not welcome that have nothing to do with software and everything to do with the defacto leaders of the community, the devs, using their power to do so.@juergen_hubert
