@BlockMage @thegibson Snowcrash references notwithstanding, I firmly believe #infosec will one day evolve beyond iron and extend into wetware.Hearing politicians come up with "solutions" to online bullying, infospace poisoning, post-truth "news" and state-actor social media attacks is as preposterous and sad laughter inducing as hearing politicians talk about firewalls, identity theft, network compromises and malware.Human brain is just another computer, only this one is encumbered with cognition and self-awareness.In my naive option, I think this will only happen once we have quantum computers (unless we hit Fermi's Boundary first). Reason being that human cognition may very well employ quantum computation.

@the_outliar @BlockMage @thegibson RE: "Cognition may involve quantum physics component"No, it's not metaphysics, actual cognitive science.There are these constructs called "pyramid cells" and there are indications that is one area where quantum magic happens, from researching Anesthesia, consciousness gets switched off when those parts where we suspect quantum physics computation happens.There are multiple instances of research that seems to point to Quantum physics/cognition. One that stuck in my mind, was someone designed a super sophisticated (on chemical neurotransmitter level) lizard brain model and switched in ...only to see nothing happen.TL;DR: No quantum computation == no "soul"Hop onto YouTube and look for "Roger Penrose quantum/consciousness" you will find some fascinating conversations with him as well as other videos pertinent to this FASCINATING area of exploration.
