       @stux new things that benefit the user are great. Forced updates, stealth updates, updates that remove features, updates that add adds or surveillance, updates that amend dark patterns for corporate kpi objectives, etc. are pleh.  Basically, corp shenanigans skew experience to negative.

       @stux problem with updates is that, while i really like bug fixes, i'm too much of a believer in this rule:"if you play with it long enough, you will break it"every dive into code to fix bugs or add features is highly likely to add bugs and leave you with zero sum gain. :)

       @stux depends on what the software update does and how you do it. I'll avoid the update if it removes functionality I use often, like Android 12 supposedly removing the 'open with' dialog. Chrome on Android has forced updates like Windows. Hate updates like that. Why can't I just be at risk anymore šŸ„ŗšŸ˜”
