Speed awareness course booked for the 27th Jan and £85 paid. If it weren't for the fact you get three points on your license, I'd just pay the £100 fine because it's not just £85. I'll have to take a day off work too!Clearly, they expect you to be a repeat offender. You have to create an account before you can do anything and then, the part that made me laugh, was you had to go to "My Courses" to book and pay! 😱

@dick_turpin A friend of mine has done two of these courses and said they are excellent. I did point out that they clearly aren't all *that* effective if she'd had to do two!

@dick_turpin Last time I had to do one of those I walked out with a handful of free pencils becuase they couldn't reuse them. Most expensive pencils I've ever bought

@dick_turpin I suppose the ultimate way to avoid speed awareness courses and points on your licence is to become a cyclist.It seems cyclists can get away with anything and even get preferential treatment under the amended Highway Code rules.That said, I bet I'd be stopped within minutes of setting-off on a bicycle if I had a gunslip on my back in-spite of it being completely legal.
