@baarda @msquebanh the more repressive a society is toward women, the more unstable, violent, and technologically backward that society becomes. Repression of women is repression of a thriving population.

@msquebanh @liberate @baarda all change starts with you deciding that you will do your part. Even if it’s simply being aware of the problem and talking with people you know about it. You might be surprised at how ignorant many people are. Culture is hard to change, because we don’t spend a lot of time thinking about why cultural behaviors exist, much less try to change these behaviors.

@exsangus @liberate @baarda I'm not surprised. Been in this too long to be surprised at anything humans do these days. I also am fighting hard for rest of my life because two of my uncles were murdered by corporate mercenaries in 80s & no one paid any attention to that violence. Some of us are fighting battles for a lifetime & willing to die on frontlines for our fight. We fight for things bigger than money.

@msquebanh @liberate @baarda if people realize that money isn’t real, that it’s simply a human invention with no intrinsic worth or value, we could start making light years of progress. The right thing is never the profitable thing to do; so as long as the world is fueled by money, the few have to fight for what is right. Thank you for fighting.

The profit motive is killing everything on the planet.I laugh when I listen to NPR and some foundation announces their motto, and it's usually some boilerplate thing like "Making the world a better place by doing the things and giving money to the things," except they never finish the sentence, which is "Unless it interferes with corporate profits."
