       Finally decided to try Mastodon.  So far I like it a lot 👍!  Just wish it supported *some* kind of text formatting ☹

       I have good news for you, @riskable, you can have text formatting if you use, say, Pleroma or Misskey, instances of which also federate with Mastodon ones.  Better yet, Akkoma (a fork of Pleroma) FE can even let you migrate your followers from another instance (Pleroma BE supports it, but it’s yet to be exposed in the FE last time I checked).

       @cnx @riskable Mastodon Glitch edition also supports markdown, formatting and downgrades gracefully. The server I’m on, oldbytes.space is on glitch, among others
