@BubbleMan I had flu like a few years ago and I never had COVID. I have a friend that was vaccinated and he had COVID. Some people have lower immunity than others, vaccines are for people with lower immunity.COVID vaccines are experimental btw@pixplz

@smigol @pixplz Vaccines are for everyone, so those who have weaker immune systems are protected by everyone else having the vaccine.There are some people who can't have a vaccine due to their immune systems (I know a few) and others who have immune systems where the vaccines might not work (I'm in this group). We need everyone to take precautions, including being vaccinated, wearing masks, and having good ventilation in indoor spaces.

It’s nice that they protect the individual, but to do what they are designed to do, stop transmission in the community, all who can be vaccinated must be. Measles was essentially gone. It took just a few yahoos who decided they didn’t need the vaccine to bring it back.

Much of the red tape has been removed to allow their distribution, but they are among the best studied treatments. The vaccine resistant are contributing to the high mutation rate, which is a very real danger. We have been lucky so far.

Herd immunity is produced by vaccination a population broadly so that a virus can't easily spread. This serves to protect those who can't be vaccinated as there are fewer opportunities for a virus to take hold.Vaccines are for everyone. Always have been.
