#fediblock Moderation notice:We decided to silence the mastodon.se instance.Their admin is as per the receipts adamant that sweden democrats should be able to use his instance.The issue which he is skirting around is this.The sweden democrats were formed by none other Gustaf Ekström, a former member of the nazi Schutzstaffeln.This isnt your ordinary alt-right, these are their role-models and ideologues.

these are the sort of people he thinks should be allowed to be on the instance. because "you cant ignore 1.8 million people" I strong heartedly and forever will disagree on this point.This is why we moved to silence the instance.We will move to a full block in one weeks time.

the other issue is his view on moderation.that's his job, not other instance users, not other instance modteams. We can consider moving to de-block and de-silence if the following conditions are met:* formation of a transparent modteam on mastodon se that does not include stefan.* publishing of instance blocks with cause.* a blanket ban on xenophobic, transphobic, lgbtiq+ -phobic -users.receipts down below.

@Admin I'm not skirting around that issue at all. as usual you're putting words in my mouth. I've repeatedly admitted that they're a terrible party. but their voter base is comprised of one fifth of the Swedish population. I just can't with good conscience judge one fifth of the population to be nazis and rule breakers before they've even landed on the server. this is the core issue that we disagree on.

@troglodyt you're calling one fifth of the Swedish population a "genocidal death cult"?just to be clear, that's what the debate is about.I'm not supposed to let any SD voters use mastodon.se because they're all basically Hitler.I don't agree with their politics, but I also can't agree with alienating such a large part of the poplation. there is no way in hell they're all bad and deserve to be shunned. if we shun them, their views will never be challenged and they will just grow stronger.

@roboneko @Admin actually it's 1.3 million, it's one fifth of sweden's population.no I don't have you blocked. I block very few instances because I think it goes against the idea of a federation. I'd much rather silence instances that pollute the timeline too much.

@stemid @troglodyt If you read his terms, he thinks that anybody who won't learn his pronouns needs to be silenced. It isn't about silencing extremists, it's about silencing anybody that isn't the kind of extremist he is.
