Suppose I made a site where people could vote on future events to predict (eg. "will nukes be used next year?"), and anyone can make predictions on these questions. A prominent page on this site shows the 100 top predictors, and automatically shows their most recent tweets and other writings as a "news feed". Many people use that page as a news source, seeing prediction ability as a signal of quality.Would this site be an institution?

@vbuterin mastodon needs a feature to edit votes in polls. Meant to vote no but fat-fingered the ‘Show Results’ option. Regardless, in this scenario the solar system itself is not the institution. However, the mechanism for deciding when to use this technology almost certainly is.

The fact that you are able to put all these polls here, all at the same time says a lot. Twitter would never allow this. At least not the way you are placing the polls back to back. Twitter would definitely have an issue as always. I’m a teacher and I got my account suspended for no reason, absolutely no reason. I don’t even want it back. I worked so hard to get over 1400 followers & just like that I was shut down. No real explanation. The same response everyone gets. Violated Twitter rules.

Not trying to be overly critical, I’m not sure what in particular you are getting at.Is it: -highlight the ambiguity of language?-examine the validity institution's definition?-examine the boundaries of English's legalese?
