Kinda funny.. Remember that NFT Bay project where people where pissed because they said there where no NFT's in it? Well.. Actually.. That torrent contained the BlockChain (with the contracts) and NOT the images (that are stored on web2) so technically it WAS the NFT's. The images attached in the reciept(NFT contract) are NOT the NFT's lol. Many people who 'hold NFTs' don't even know what they are buying lol!

Also, if the domain or host does not get renewed or lost where that image is stored it's just gone!If you can buy that domai n you can basically put anything into people's collection that where stored there lol!The BlockChain wallets also have NO filters or block ability so anyone can send you ANYTHING even for doxxing.Good luck trying to delete it.

NFT should not be mainstream since we don't even have a purpose for the BlockChain.. Again like with most things, it's all about the money no matter the costs or risks.. It's not cool to own NFT's... It just says you don't get it

@stux I work for an IT company. I don't understand blockchain.I see a programmers colleague loving the topic. I ask him how it works. HE DOESN'T KNOW!!!So, if a programmers I know don't know how it work, what chance do I have of understanding it's usage correctly? Or even the vulnerabilities?Nah.... @stux for example if you buy an NFT linked to the domain of a massive exchange that goes bankrupt and replaces all the urls to the bankruptcy notice. Just to pull something out of the air…

@stux if you store the image in chain, it could be useful. But they don't even use IPFS, you just *own* a link to some url, it's ridiculous.

@stux Anil Dash, who coinvented NFTs, said the URL / Image support was a quick hack, and not well thought out. (And IPFS only works reliably if you're also hosting the pics you care about on your own IPFS server.)There may be other uses for them, but "URLs of Ugly Beanie Babies as Investments" was a bad idea that's almost run its course except for money laundering.

@stux NFT’s remind me of all the other crazy manias in history in late stage markets. It’s like the tulip craze in Holland - you’d be crazy to spend money on most of this nonsense, but people do.

@stux NFTs are a really weird system. I guess you could see it as another property game, but why own something that you can download for free plus duplicate? If they had something functional like I.e cookies/tokens (not blockchain related) that can give you access to certain parts of the internet such as streaming services, for example. But why filter it through a blockchain if you can just use a cookie in a browser or a token (again not blockchain related) on a device?

@stux They be better of providing their content for free (well, it's free anyway) while providing a donation link whether cash or crypto. The latter being decentralised financing sounds great in theory, but you'd really have to know what you're doing and with the capitalism game being who has the most capital gains the biggest advantage, it's influence has become over centralised and kills the idea of of decentralised currencies in the first place.

@stux while I don't stan NFTs (I cannot possibly afford any even if I wanted to), I find it amusing how many ppl enjoy policing how others spend their money.I don't see what the difference is between ppl gambling on horses or sports or whatsnot, buying nfts, picking penny stonks, accumulating pokemon cards or whatever. It's their money. They're free to do whatever they like with it.
