#ContentWarnings on here are so weird. Just seen two posts next to each other: one with a #CW for 'eye contact' on a picture of a cartoon, and the other with a picture showing a dead/dying game #bird strung up upside down on someone's gym equipment, with no CW at all. I imagine waaaaay more people would be upset by the latter. Like, can we get some consistency here folks? Or am I missing something?

@Gizz47 the thoughts which occur to me are:for those of us here using sauropods.win , it is probably feasible (but not easy) to come up with consistent CW rules that most people at sauropods.win can agree on and use, and that @john is willing to enforce. But for the thousands of other servers (instances) out there, which have their own rules (or lack thereof), their own people, etc, I fear there's little to be done but block and move on.

@llewelly @john I don't think it's necessary for us to make rules around it to be honest. People should be free to post and CW however they like. I just thought the juxtaposition of the two posts was amusing. Just an observation about the different ways people go about things. It seems illogical, but then, that's people for you!

@Gizz47 @llewelly yeah, I think realistically what we’re going to find on the Fediverse is that the baseline for CWs is something like the big commercial sites, and everything above that will just be a big mess.I’m okay with that. I don’t see another way.
