       The "we cannot do a journalism without quote tweets" argument is ... I'm sorry, it's the *worst* rationalization for that feature I have seen so far. My catty response would be, "Wow! You mean journalism was invented in the year 2015? Amazing!"My even cattier response would be that, here, on this site, I covered a "straight pride" parade turning into a police riot. I was posting, complete with CWs, with the taste of pepper spray in my throat.Find. A. Better. Argument.

       I'm sure that you, an individual person wishing for a Quote button, have only beneficial uses in mind. Really! I'm not being facetious here. You want to do good in the world. But lots of people, myself included, are seeing you pull up with your truck of well-intentioned paving stones, and history inclines us to be concerned about where the road will go.In an environment full of fragile white people, every software feature will eventually be a vector for white fragility. Not a fan of "CW your politics" being used as a faux-polite way of saying "shut up"? Just wait until the federated timeline is full of "See, this is the kind of impoliteness I'm talking about".
