@Dan_Ramos Am I the only one who hates Charlie Brown cartoons?"Hate" might be a strong word, but I actively dislike Charlie Brown...

@VeddyBadAng I don't love them but I don't hate them, myself. I'll watch them if they happen to be on.

@Dan_Ramos I loved them as a kid – I don't know what changed as I got older. Same thing with Dr. Seuss...

@VeddyBadAng Ironically, I grew up in Springfield, MA, even while Dr. Seuss was alive.. and I never liked his stuff even as a kid. I still remember, as a kid, I thought his art style looked.. not great. Kind of sloppy. The stories weren't very good either, I thought. I just remember disliking his stuff as a kid for some reason. Charlie Brown was okay enough. I liked some characters/stories more than others in Charlie Brown (who doesn't love Snoopy and Red Baron skits and Woodstock?).

@Dan_Ramos Yes, Dr. Seuss is sloppy - that's a good description. I also don't like the way the eyes, hands and feet are illustrated, and the fact that everyone has huge upper lips.

@VeddyBadAng It's funny.. here I was a first-grader and I'd see this stuff.. and I was already criticizing these books on specific details. I remember the teachers being kind of surprised but they didn't disagree. Most kids just accepted the materials whereas I went off to my own corner to read my own books (books on computer programming.. yes, I can remember reading books on BASIC programming in first grade.. and I loved it to death!). I was a weird kid. Seuss just didn't do it for me.

@VeddyBadAng Seriously. I remember hitting 4th grade in elementary school when they started to introduce us to Algebra and I still remember that moment as I went wide-eyed and shouted, "HEY! I know this already! This is just like programming!" and it was a breeze as a kid. haha

@VeddyBadAng @Dan_Ramos I too read books on programming (BASIC) in elementary school. I feel like there were some that felt like “choose your own adventure “ books. Entertaining with education. I’ll have to see if I still have any of them 😂
