@stux Sure but even with fake names there is also some merit to knowing that you're following the same RandomMadeUpName on different services and not two different people, or an impersonator.But Mastodon site validation helps, as does #KeyOxide

It's why most people kind of shrug when they hear a narcissistic billionaire just bought and scuppered the most important journalistic hub ever built.
