Two quick notes from #new folks here.For iOS: Use the iOS web app. The iOS mastodon app does not make use of many of the new features in v4. The iOS app will get better soon and we'll announce that.Remote follows: Try withdrawing a pending request and then follow again. Sometimes a remote instance isn't able to send us back a confirmation acknowledgement.DM: Direct Messages are created by starting a post with @. In the web interface these show up by tapping on the @ sign on the right

@SDF On the web app, you also get access to the Local and Federated timelines, making it easier to discover new users. Other Mastodon clients have those features, but Mastodon wanted to get on the App Store.

@SDF By “use the iOS web app,” I assume you mean open Safari (browser) and enter the URL of your Mastodon instance (like https://mastodon.sdf.org). Works great!

@SDF OK, so I'm not alone. The CSV import didn't help either. Now without having to type every follow name again to find out if I actually followed them - is there some well hidden overview on pending requests anywhere?

@SDF you gotta fix the whole pending thing. I try to follow people and for over a week it just sits in pending. I'm considering just leaving here because what's the point if I can't follow the conversations of the people with whom I'm interested. The ENTIRE point of this is to follow people and conversations and your FOLLOW feature doesn't really seem to work.

@SDF I understand the periodic issues with remote follows and am wondering if the pending request will eventually resolve on it’s own. Especially for cases where it still does not acknowledge after several follow/withdraw attempts spread across a couple of hours.

New Mastodon person here, looking to find people I followed on Twitter---In that search, when I look to see who is following people, this pops up:"Follows from other servers are not displayed. Browse more on the original profile."Am I doing something wrong, or if not, is there any chance all follows (regardless of server) will be displayed at some point? Thanks again, John

@SDF they are not blocking you, the account is mine and does not require approval. i have not had much luck with any external follows -- in or out. there is something wrong with external follows...
