Many of those I have tried to follow on Mastodon are giving me a “pending” instead of a “following” reaction. These are journalists and such so why wouldn’t they want followers?

@Bikracer sometimes this happens if the servers are busy, which is def the case rn. give it a couple of hours and if it hasn't come through, try unfollowing and following again, that will usually take care of it

@Bikracer @sarae Kathy Griffin is on the largest mastodon server with hundreds of thousands of accounts. We must received a confirmation from them in order for that connection to be established and that can take some time. Please be patient and they should send it to us in time. There is nothing we can do on our end to speed up a message that has to come from a remote server.
