Just found #WritingWonders (thanks @ixtlidekami for boosting others), and I thought it would help me work on a #TextBasedAdventure (#InteractiveFiction) game I've been working on for a while.I'm going to try and do a few a day to catch up. So, here's my Day 1."Siege of Remontel" is a #StarTrek #FanFiction IF game.The story takes place in the late 23rd century on a starship of little significance. The ship has inexplicably been taken over by a group of pirates. 1/2

... The pirates motives aren't entirely clear. The senior officers are taken captive, leaving only junior officers, a few enlisted, and a couple of civilians to retake the ship.#WritingWonders Day 1: "Introduce the WIP you'll be sharing this month."2/2

#WritingWonders Day 2: "Would you live in your fictional world?"For my #WIP #InteractiveFiction, the world is the #StarTrek universe, in the late 23rd century.I would definitely live there, could I, but not in the setting of the story, which is a Starfleet ship.I might travel on civilian starships, and mostly live on planet (probably Earth), but the danger and unstable life aboard a Starfleet ship wouldn't appeal to me as a personal lifestyle. #ScienceFiction #WritingSciFi #writing

#WritingWonders Day 5: "Introduce your main characters"Protagonist is unnamed, only ever called "Ensign". She's bright-eyed and enthusiastic. Human female.Best friend is Ensign Christi Gomez. Also human female (I may change this). She's a bit emo and acts annoyed at MC's enthusiasm, but really likes having her around.Main antagonist is Pirate Captain (not yet named): a long-tusked Tellarite female. Very disagreeable.Her 2nd is a Kzinti male: very arrogant, to a fault.

She's often worried they'll send her home for underperformance, despite stellar reviews.She keeps a Starfleet recruitment poster in her sleeping pod to remind her why she's here

There's a tiny moment of peace, immediately followed by a wave of fear when the red alert klaxon sounds. There's never actually been a red alert since she got out of the Academy. She's confused and scared.

#WritingWonders Day 11: "Describe MC's favorite hangout place using one 👀, one 👂, one 👃"Her favorite place is the lower deck bunks, with her friends.👀: Lines of sleeping pods on the wall. Bunks, with a door that closes over them.👂: When the bunk is closed, silence only. As the bunk is opened, friendly chatter fills the air, until our story starts with a klaxon blaring.👃: Unlike most of the ship, which usually smells quite sterile, here there's always a slight body odor smell in the air.

Her dad got assigned to help with some minor repairs. She managed to sneak on with him while he was making the repairs....

On the ceiling, so she sees it first when she wakes up, is a copy of the Starfleet recruitment poster that hung in Starbase 6, where she spent most of her childhood.On the inside wall is a painting of her parents, done by her mother.Many other ensigns and crewmen had their bunks more decorated than her, but she included just a few of her most important things.
