The US Government must stop any and all association with Elon Musk — in particular, SpaceX. Impulse Control Disorder has no place in space travel. Musk is a profound national security risk.

@Cleopatra @DrJackBrown That's not what was written. Dr Brown did not criticize Musk's temper or behaviour, he criticized "Impulse Control Disorder [sic]". People with forms of ICD can still lead fulfilling lives, especially with treatment. Poor emotional regulation is not a symptom for many who live with an ICD.Besides, much of the world, including the Netherlands, highly rewards aggressive behaviour from men. If this is what you mean to criticize, then say that.

@bananarama @DrJackBrown ADD and ADHD are NOT ICD. ADHD impulsivity is annoying but not usually aggressive or antisocial. ICD is.As a teacher, the former needs supports and redirection, while the other needs firm boundaries and discipline.

@bananarama @DrJackBrown Not according to the DSM. As a person with ADHD, it has similarities, but are not the same. ADHD is a neurodeveolpomental disorder and ICD is a conduct disorder. Thank you for proving that you should not be critiquing a person with an actual doctorate in the field.

@bananarama @DrJackBrown Also you need to see someone about your victimization issues. As a person that was diagnosed with ADHD before it was a thing, along with other concerns that are legal disabilities, I have no respect for the people that use the situation as a weapon and an shield to hide their ignorance, stupidity and misbehavior. Stop called people ABLEIST when they say something you don't like- it makes it harder for the rest of us when we had to deal with real concerns.

The quotation in question is literally promoting discrimination. Dr. Brown has been called out for his quackery on multiple occasions, so perhaps you should also reconsider making an argument from authority.

You clearly do not have a doctorate, don't know what you are talking about , and anyone that accuses someone of "punching down" when they don't know who they are talking to needs the help a person with said Doctorate is qualified to give.

@bananarama @DrJackBrown ADHD is not an Impulse Control Disorder (ICD), although people with ADHD may act impulsively at times.Pyromania, Kleptomania, Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED), and compulsive behaviors/activities such as shopping, gambling, sex, skin-picking, and hair-pulling are ICDs.

@Minji_Me @DrJackBrown I admit, I had misinterpreted a resource on it. However, it really does not matter at all. The main point stands regardless. You can't actually diagnose an ICD without a significant amount of assessment though, and certainly not at a distance. I get why people like Dr. Brown's attacks, I do not like Musk either. However, he is spreading pseudo-science that could be used to spin anybody's behaviour.

@Minji_Me @DrJackBrown The specifics really don't matter. There is clearly room for many who suffer from forms of ICD, especially if they have some form of treatment. So let's stick with the facts: Musk was rewarded for acting aggressively in the past, and now it's costing him dearly.
