Elon spends so much time on Twitter, how does he get any actual work done? Doesn’t he own a couple of other companies that need his attention or nah?

@georgetakei it's almost as though being a CEO is not so labour intensive as the general public are led to believe

@fcktheworld587 @georgetakei A good CEO will make a difference. A bad CEO can still not destroy the company, if his underlings are good. Hope Chief Twit is the kind of bad CEO that can bankrupt his companies. They all deserve to be swallowed up by the competition.

@fcktheworld587 @georgetakei it's funny, I saw some post on #Twitter from someone defending #Elon by saying "he runs 5 other companies and has 10 kids. I don't know how he does it all!"There's a very simple answer: he doesn't.

@Seculoid @fcktheworld587 @georgetakei they have one, someone has to be top dog. They do not, however, need to be paid 2020-300 times what the average worker makes, because no CEO makes that big of a difference. As proven by all the rockstar CEOs that ruined the companies they were leading, because of hubris most of the time.

@f1ip @Seculoid @georgetakei no they don't. It could be done by committee.

@f1ip @Seculoid @georgetakei in fact, I'd go so far as to day that it's probably important that there _is_ no top dog, and that's what we should be working towards. Distribution of power, rather than concentration of it

@fcktheworld587 @Seculoid @georgetakei could be, yeah. But that brings about its own problems. Most companies will benefit from having one person in charge. But the current CEO culture makes it way too easy for them to fuck it up and leave with their severance package, leaving investors and employees in the lurch. With zero accountability for the departed CEO and everyone who approved those payments.

@f1ip @Seculoid @georgetakei it's almost as though the current economic and legal structure of corporations is set up as a sort of insulation against personal consequence for psychopaths who exploit the masses for personal gain. Certainly the powerful psychopaths, who push for legislation that makes it so, don't have anything to do with it

@fcktheworld587 @f1ip @georgetakei also, CEOs aren't literally in charge of everything. They have a fiduciary responsibility to the parasites we call investors and that's about it lol

@fcktheworld587 @Seculoid @georgetakei oh, no doubt. It is a culture of protection if you are member of the club. Just look at Gordon Brown. Brexit, Greensill, now gets a teaching job in Abu Dhabi, no penalty for his fuck ups.Goshn is another great example. How long it took for him to fall from grace. So many "geniuses" that never had to show their genius and, even when they fucked up, got paid for it.

@fcktheworld587 @Seculoid @georgetakei FTX collapse? Even the NYTimes is still carrying water for their CEO, giving him a platform to spew his BS and try to salvage something. FT did the same thing, sadly. And others followed suit. Hell, Trump's career. How many bankruptcies and clearly illegal dealings and he ends up in the WH.

@fcktheworld587 @f1ip @Seculoid @georgetakei That's a good idea. They should make a committee of people who are specialists in their departments and call them officers of the company. And have one whose role it is to make decisions and make them the execution officer. But there may be a few of those. So make one first among equals. Maybe a chief of the executive officers. I'm with you on this! They get paid too much.

@fcktheworld587 @f1ip @Seculoid @georgetakei replace committee with board and committee head with CEO and you are looking at the same picture. If you have a committee without an agreed leader the person who shouts loudest regardless of aptitude will be the leader.

@mattgreenland @f1ip @Seculoid @georgetakei hm. If only there was some way to rotate committee heads. Sadly, there isn't, and never could be. Guess we'll just have to allow power to concentrate in the hands of the last people should ever be trusted with it.

@fcktheworld587 @georgetakei although you are correct that Elon Musk should be watching his other businesses but that issue will probably self resolve if he continues acting the way he's acting he may only have Twitter and soon after that, nothing.
