Does anyone know of a Mastodon instance for people in social work or family services? I have several people in that field asking me who are desperate to jump off the birdsh1t site.I've been combing through some lists, but I must be overlooking something because I haven't found one yet.#boost please for visibility. #socialwork #familyservices #publichealth

@gregorysherrow Not offhand, but people overthink the instance choice thing. You really aren't going to find your community on an instance of exactly like-minded people, you're going to find it just like on twitter. Hashtags and such.Instance choice is largely irrelevant as long as you don't choose a fascist sight or whatever. Just choose a sight and follow people and your experience will be very much like on twitter The people you follow will show up in your feed.

@Ricardus @gregorysherrow While this is sort of true...Sometimes content moderators can be out of their depth with specialist content and make a lot of mistakes. If you're gonna produce a lot of writing in a specific specialty, being on an instance where the moderators understand the speciality helps with having the moderation work right.

@neroden @gregorysherrow Sure there are a few edge cases. but that doesn't change the overall sentiment.
