@pallenberg Well, the fact that they named it the "Averting the National Threat of Internet Surveillance, Oppressive Censorship and Influence, and Algorithmic Learning by the Chinese Communist Party Act, or the “ANTI-SOCIAL CCP Act” means it's complete baloney but looks nice in the Congressional Record, right? I mean who doesn't like ANTI-SOCIAL CCP? Also, algorithms. Right? For crissakes ALGORITHMS!!

@tinius as someone who's been to Mainland China for about 20 times and who lives in Taiwan for some 14 years I can assure you that most of the western world doesn't have a glimpse of an idea how they use the data they mine from such apps.

@pallenbergMoin Moin Sascha...ich denke auch das da was dran ist, das noch gar nicht wirklich abschätzbar ist was wo unberechtigt an Daten abgegriffen wird...aber es wäre wirklich einmal interessant welche Meinung das @bfdi dazu hat, sollte das Gesetz in den #USA durch den Kongress gehenc/c @tinius

@fenriswitch Ah, ok. Das ist etwas anderes als der Angemessenheitsbeschluss. Zu dem von Ihnen genannten Gesetzentwurf in den USA können wir nichts sagen, weil wir ihn nicht kennen. Hier scheint es ja auch nicht um Datenschutzfragen zu gehen, sondern eher um die Einflussnahme von Staaten durch soziale Medien. Fragen in diese Richtung könnte nur der Gesetzgeber beantworten. / ÖA
