@EmmaKelley ha. Yes. Most of the people I know IRL don't use twitter. It was a real uphill struggle. Also people never "liked" anything to the extent where just doing my thing and clicking like on stuff, I liked meant random people followed me. Super weird. It was a very... status conscious? Sort of place. Whereas here the number of followers you look like you have shifts depending on which servers are federated. 😀

@Homebrewandhacking @EmmaKelley I can confirm, in my whole time on the bird site, I really only got reactions from offsite friends and indie author share bots... Mastodon is like a breath of fresh air. I've genuinely never felt this comfortable on a non-forum site.
